 Center console
Looking at either a PD or GT haul and want to put a center console. Does PD and GT install the console? If so, any idea what the cost is?
I want to get a second hand boat and trailer and buy a new motor with steering. Leaning towards GT b/c of the instant reverse due my fishing, crabbing, hunting, etc.
Thanks.

 Re: Center console
PD offers a center console model and am sure they would install it for you when you purchased the motor....

 Re: Center console
They both will install it. I don't really know PD's price but wit GT figure about a little over $2,000 added to da price of a tiller steer rig for da console rig.

 Re: Center console
I have a ProDrive boat and motor with a center console. I love it. Of course, they installed all my steering stuff at the factory. You can call and talk to Kp at ProDrive, and he'll tell you what it costs for steering if you have a PD boat. I'm sure they'll put steering in a used boat too, but it'll probably cost more than if it was one of their boats.

 Re: Center console
For pricing on the PD, you can ck the website or call KP... Not sure where you are getting your motor-if it is direct or thru dealer..
but here is some pricing as I recall it.. (wouldn't swear to it, but pretty sure)
"Steering" package-is somewhere around $795 Console itself-is around $295
If you want power t/t-it is $475
You can also add manual Full Power Reverse or Power Full Power Reverse...
Good luck

 Re: Center console
I know its about 1300 for the console, steering components, etc if being added to a prodive haul and motor.
Just debating on GT vs PD. I have read a lot of post on here to see people's opinions. LIke I stated earlier, leaning towards GT because of the instant reverse. I know a brand new 35 GTR engine steering ready is 6500 and 225 for cables, throttle, etc. Was wondering how much for the console and assembly.
Looking at second hand haul and trailer and buying a new motor.

 Re: Center console
No real debate if your going back & forth in your head... fishing, crabbing, running lines picking up decoys etc you'll want a GTR.. The instant reverse is what sold me. There's a clip (see below) of Flash's bad arse dual GTR rig on the clip all w/i the first minute... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ESrXjgiKNTs

 Re: Center console
Nice video. How easy is it to move the storage box and gun box in a gator tail hull. I have a 18x48 GT boat in mind that waggman has for sale. Would put a 35 GTR with center console. Looking to save some money and not buy everything new....or save the wife some money I would buy a new rig!

 Re: Center console
Well I guess now I just want to make sure you can take any GT boat, move the rear seat box and gun box and place a center console in it.

 Re: Center console
the boxes are easy to remove, now moving them to another location in the boat can depend on your DIY skills. This all depends on if the boxes are the type that are bolted to the pieces of angle attached to the floor.

 Re: Center console
I'm making some phone calls Monday to get quotes on a custom boat with the center console. Will probably go 17ft x 52.

 Re: Center console
yep but its a terrible lake. no ducks at all (or water for that matter depending on the core). its just a place to go and try your luck.

 Re: Center console
I grew up on that lake...parents shared a home-made barge up there...went to a few boy scout bass tournaments as well...haven't been back in probably 20 years. When i was real young, we had a cabin at Jack Isle (is that right?) i think that's the name. Woody
