Re: So is everyone ready for Caddo?
I think some folks got fired up because it sounded like the Caddo event was invitation only due to some of the happenings that took place at past Caddo events (I wouldn't know, never been to one myself). Somebody finally posted up what the date of the event is.

Re: So is everyone ready for Caddo?
I don't understand, ITS A PUBLIC LAKE, you don't have to have an invitation to go to these events from what i understand, but from what i have gathered someone got their feathers ruffled and tried to make it an invitational thing, Fork that, bring your boat and booze and lets go have a good time! No one owns the lake, if people are going up there with confrentation on their mind they might as well stay home. These events are made for people to have fun and hang out and meet new people. So leave the negativity at home and don't ruin other peoples time.

Re: So is everyone ready for Caddo?
I think invite only is a mistake. The ones that do get out of hand will get weeded out because no one will want to be around them and if the game warden watching this forum shows up at the mud run to check everyone out, that's okay with me. The only folks worred about the game warden showing up are the ones that aint legal and shouldn't be out there in the first place.
I can't tell you how many times I've been stopped by the game warden, especially on holiday weekends, just to do a routine check to make sure I have the right life jackets, a throwable, a fire extinguisher, and some type of audible device. I was happy to show everything to them and glad they were doing it because I see them go from my boat to the next boat that they see and check them and I bet they've prevented quite a few accidents by doing it that way. I guess the bottom line is that if you are afraid the game warden is going to show up because your boat aint legal, then don't show up and put us all at risk.

Re: So is everyone ready for Caddo?
Theres not but 2 ppl who can decide to do it invite only and ones mind is made up pretty much this yr is the test. Me and hunter have put on a ride the last 2 yr invite only and never had a problem... Keep it small and its not out of hand. And to counteract with your post about ppl getting weeded out, nah they know who they are but they will come just to make there presence felt. Some ppls colors really come out when these events happen. Ive had a bad past but im better than that now i can honestly look back and say i found out who my friends really were.. Glad to say 2 of them are the organizers of the ride.

Re: So is everyone ready for Caddo?
Not to push buttons or anything but one like myself who loves to ride and meet new people, how would i ever make mudd runs if evryone makes them a secret and privatly invites who they want. i bought my boat to hunt ride and fish, But if the mudd motor runs are members only kinds of things then how fun is that and i might not now the whole story on the invitation only thing but sounds like alot of people got outta hand.
Those kind of people only get to you if you let them, other than that hang out somewhere else!

Re: So is everyone ready for Caddo?
Yeah, I'm in the same boat. I just bought my first SD this year and was hoping to attend the Caddo mud run, but like take'em said, if it's invitation only how would i ever know about it. I spend some time out at caddo quite a few weekends throughout the year and I was hoping to meet some folks at the mud run so that when I am out there I can give'em a call meet up with 'em and do some ridin' and fishin' and possibly some huntin' later in the year.

Re: So is everyone ready for Caddo?
I'd agree with that... I'm new enough to the site to have not attended the Muddi Gras but all the rides here in TX so far have been a non issue, good times & safe. If your going to be a dumb arse and become a drunk and out of control, yeah stay home your not welcome, nobody wants to deal with it, see it or have to be on the same body of water as the irresponsible guy that could easily cause an accident. The above would include anyone littering here in Texas, you can get shot for dat!

Re: So is everyone ready for Caddo?
First of all... If it becomes an invite only ride....Dont be a phuckin douche bag, thread ninja-uppin' asshole and you might get invited. Second of all... If all the negative ones stayed at home there would be no one to guide all your asses around the lake.
