 Another starter question...
Ok guys. I have a 36 pd. Once in awhile when I try to start it, it just clicks (sounds like the solenoid). After several attempts it will engage and start. It's hard to see what's going on since I have a side console and I'm always by myself when it happens. I think the gears on the starter just don't want to mesh. Anyway, just thought I would see if anyone else has had this problem and what was needed to fix it. Thanks.

Make sure all your connections are tight, and your battery is good, but...
Ours started doing it and progressively got worse and worse. One day it will just quit. I'd get a new one.

 Re: Another starter question...
First time it did it was last duck season. Then no problems until last weekend. It got pretty bad, but the battery was a bit low, so I wondered if that was causing it. I got another year on the warranty so if it gets to be a PITA I'll just give KP a call. Thanks.

 Re: Another starter question...
That happens to me every once in a while. It will click once when I start and nothing. Then, when I turn the key again, it doesn't even click. I just wiggle and re-tighten the positive and negative cables on the battery, and boom, rockin' and rollin'.

These motors are really sensitive about the neg. electrical connnection. Make sure they are tight and clean.

 Re: Another starter question...
sounds like bad connections... and check the entire length of your cables to make sure they didn't get pinched somewhere
