This Saturday, some of my Friends were having a Family Reunion along Hwy 70. Next to Power Panels. When Out of No Were, a Bear comes walking accross the yard. They watched it for a while, then it finally climbed into a tree that night.Bear.jpg

* Wildlife and Fisheries were called, but stated that there was nothing they could do. So, there is a HUGE Black Bear hanging out next to a Hwy. With no Big Woods to migrate into. So, it seems that the proper thing to do, would have been, have it removed.

Sunday Morning, when everyone returned to the Reunion, the Bear was gone.Then, Sunday Night in Belle River, It was Hit by a care and Killed. I feel that the WL&F is 100% to blame on this one.dead.jpg

nice size bear!! We were4 coming home the other day and a bear came out in front of us, he was way bigger than that!! That bear was big and I thought the bear we saw was about 8 to 9' but if the bear you show is that big this one had to be 12' maybe!! mind you the world record black bear came from near here at 861lbs!

Sometimes I wonder if we ain't better off keeping our taxes and doing sht ourselves.

These damn black bears are becoming a nuisance down here. They trapped one 2 miles from my house last week and I don't live in bear country. I been tellin people for months there was a bear around and nobody believed me. My 2 deer leases are over run with them.

I think in our lifetime we'll see a season on them. It'll prolly be sum knda lottery tag bullshit, but they gonna have to start thinning em out.

We've always had bears in the mountains here. But in the last ten years they have exploded into the piedmont area. Nobody can really explain it. They can seriously jack up your deer hunting. Don't think a bear won't kill a deer. Also, just them being around will run off a lot of deer. Also, they will flat out destroy a food source. I watched a 500lb boar destroy 2 acres of corn in one evening. He'd roll around on his back knocking down the stalks and then eat an ear and roll over some more.

They started releasing some into the wild around where I live to get rid of the hogs...

They gonna wind up putting a season on um round here, just like a public alligator season where you can just but your tags a wal-mart with the rest of your lisc. maby

I do think they are at fault. You can't stop the animal from wandering around, and from what I underastand they can cover some serious ground.

What burns me up bad about this, is many people in that area called, and the Dept. knew the animal was close to a dangerous highway, and nobody came out. BUT, as soon as one of those collared bears stops beeping, they send an ARMY out looking for it. If rumors of a shot bear flare up, it starts a MAJOR investigation.

I am all for restoring bears, and opening a season on them, and I would defintely particpate in purchasing a tag and harvesting one.

But don't start up a program, and then not manage it. A perfectly good bear got killed because somebody was too lazy or busy to come check.

I heard someone shot that bear then threw it in da road..... just sayin. lol

I heard that the bear had sex with one of those levee rat woman, and died of an STD right before he got hit.
