Post I got a problem
im gonna be moving to lake charles soon, not far from a buddy's house in port arthur. if i wanna go hunt with him how can i do it? theres no way im going to keep payin the non-res. fees.

i've been told that i can get a p.o. box in TX, get some mail sent to it, and my buddys house, then go to a TX dmv and get a TX licensep to keep in a shelf somewhere and only carry it when i hunt in TX. they said i could tell the dmv i lost my LA license or something.

this doesnt erxactly sound like the best plan cause i'd prolly get my
LA license cancelled or something. and i definitely dont wanna get charged with stealing my own identity.

there gotta be a better way to be able to hunt in 2 states.

if you live in TX now then get your resident lifetime now.... that way you are covered when you go back to TX even it you move....

this was mentioned above and we are trying to help.... just trying to keep you from paying a huge federal fine by trying to do the whole illegal resident thing...

main thing is to get your lifetime Resident TX license before you move... that way when you do move not matter where it is you can legally go back to TX no matter where your legal residence is...

are you officially moving to lake charles? when you are in college your current legal residence does not change... but that is for the young ones that still live under mom and dad during the summer...

If you are a young man the lifetime license is a great deal...

I can remember when the Tx hunt/fish lifetime one was 300.00 and each
year's license only cost about 20.00 with everything now it's almost 100.00...

In 5 to 10 years we will be dropping 200.00 per year for an annual license...

TX is outrageous.... 1800 for resident combo... i didnt even see where they offered a lifetime non-resident...

LA is still $500 for a combo - as you can tell we make the money off the non-residents...

i live in alex, LA now. when i go to college ill be in an apartment so my address will change. i justy find it akward that people that plan to hunt there maybe even more that their resident state cnt get some sort of reasonable price. i do not want to pay those sort of prices for the next 5 years and maybe longer. i would be willing to make payments on a $2,000 lifetime license.

i was over in NE texas a couple weeks ago, and loved it. i really hope that there is some way i can do it.

Get your lifetime license in LA now. Establish a TX address and get a TX lifetime when you can there. Dont try no BS, the game wardens see it all the time and then you will really be out some money. Have an uncle that tried it and lost. He owned a place in both LA and TX. Cant be a resident of both at the same time LEGALLY.

I bought my kids LT licenses here in LA. Its 200.00 0-4 yr, 300.00 5-13 yr and 500.00 14 yr & old for the combo. You young bucks need to preplan on getting your younguns a LT hunt & fish.

Non-resident in LA is 3000.00..............

Damn, 1800.00 for a TX resident. They better be guarenteeing some wall hangers for that. What yall pay yearly?

The type 2 permit is almost another 50 bucks. Think my license is around 115 with hunting and freshwater fishing.

Have a buddy that did the same thing you are trying to do but he was in Mississippi. everything was good till they went look at his homestead exemption. He was still claiming homestead exemption in Louisiana. In the end it costed him 2 grand pluss 2 weekends in lock up, and could not hunt in Mississippi for 2 years. Not worth it if you ask me.

Bought my lifetime back when it was $500 in Texas. Bought my 3 year olds for $1000 as soon as he was born back in 2007. Worth every penny. I do hold a native LA 5 day hunting license too I wonder if that will work for lifetime over there?
