I could believe that, but I will say the picture makes it look bigger. Kinda like all those other photos that were emailed all over. Putting the snake closer to the camera and the guy behind it makes it looks like almost 10' long. Looks like the guy is holding it about 2 feet away from him making it look big. How many rattles were on it?

The biggest I ever saw and killed, was almost 2' longer than a Rem model 1100 Auto with a 30" barrel. I'd say he was close to 6' long and had a head the size of a baseball. It also had 13 rattles on it's tail.

Too bad they fuked it up.Would make a nice mount.I killed one down in Zapata TX that is 7' 8" on a deer lease we had down there.Ended up getting it life size mounted and put in a glass case.It has 21 rattles and no button.Other people on the lease shot at and seen some as long as our shooting lanes that were 8' wide.We also had Blue Indigo snake down there that were over 10' talk about scaring the shiat out of you while riding your four wheeler through the brush.

If i remember Texas law correctly, rattlesnakes are not protected, non-games animals. No limits, no slots, no restrictions. Kind of like a cyotee or hog. How else do they kill thousands of them every year in the Sweetwater area and hold the annual rattlesnake roundup???? I have never heard of a snake permit.

We can killem all in Tx as long as you don't get caught! If you get caught in Tx doin anything to a Timber rattler its $500 to ya, plus state restitution to replace the ugly bastud.

I don't mind the timber rattlers. At least up here, they are common in the hollers but the copperheads are way more aggressive.

O.K. I know you guys down south come across more snakes than we do up north but I got to ask...have you guys really seen rattlesnakes that big? I am not afraid of snakes but I am of that sucker. Jeez if you guys don't think that pic has been enhanced that has to be some type of snake record. Post some pics of big cottonmouths or rattlesnakes that you have. I love looking at them big scary things.

Snakes that size got that way by avoiding people. While in the South we see more snakes of varied varietys and sizes. One that big is not common. I would normally be skeptical of this photo, but I am convinced that it is genuine. Look at the face of the man holding the stick.
That boy is intense. I have seen a lot of rattlers in my time none that big. 7-8 foot would be a scary thing to come up on while walking.

boys i wish i could tell you that photo was enhanced. im gonna have to be walking around those woods in the dark in about another month and a half during bow season. thats the biggest snake i have ever seen in my life, but we have killed a couple close to it. 6 and 7 footers. I had a buddy get nailed by a 6 footer one time and he said it welt like someone hit him in the leg with a bat when it struck. personally....i wouldnt ever feel it because i would prob sh!t my pants and pass out before it even had a chance to strike.

All I know is if that snake bit me I would HOLLER
