I purchased this engine 2 weeks ago from a kid. only had 23 hours on it, and its a 2009 23 HP. I started leaking oil from these two bolts. do these bolts need to have some sort of sealant on them and does anyone know what the torque is to these. I am a mechanic, but cant find a repair manual worth shit on the internet for my engine. also I am leaking oil out of the dipstick plug between the tube and the plug anyone else experiencing or had this problem?



im sort of screwed on the warranty cause vanguard doesn't transfer the warranty on their engines, and im not really bothered by that cause i rebuild engines anyway, but would like to know about the torque on them or sealant

The CC gasket seals the on on the right. I don't believe the one on the left should be able to leak anything. The seal on the dipstick can be easily changed. I don't know the torque specs but two fingers tight is usually enough.

17nm or 150 inch pounds according to my servive manual. That bolt on the left must have had oil splashed on it cause it can't leak there.
