 Whats next??
So i recently broke down and purchased BrinkleyDogs Stage II heads and Mikuni. My obvious next purchase is exhaust and im leaning towards a MM. Im new to modding these motors but im mechanically inclined. Im wondering what your guys' thoughts are for an intake. Im thinking of doing the deadbird8 port job on the intake and pairing that with the mikuni? What do i need to get to mate the mikuni up with the stock intake. Or should i just go aftermarket intake? From my research the general consensus on here says the EVT is top end while the BPS kit is bottom end. But its not looking like BPS sells an intake seperately? I have a stock 09 36PD, keep in mind im more concerned about bottom end, not mph on top....so much (So i maybe didnt need the mikuni but James gave me a good deal) I carry a big hunting load, so im just looking to carry my gear and 3-4 guys a little better. I think im well on my way. Ive been doing alot of reading and cant seem to find out what i need to get to mount the mikuni to a stock intake, just want to have everything ready to go so i can throw it all on all at once with no surprises and waiting on parts. Thanks

 Re: Whats next??
You can use your stock intake thats fine. Use the DB8 tutorial and get yourself an adapter. Think Mitschke had one for sale, you may check the classifieds. If not there is several other places to get them.

 Re: Whats next??
You can get the Rubber boot to adapt the mikuni to the evt intake( got one for sale ),or to the bps adapter. Also Evt has a adapter, and gecker to.

 Re: Whats next??
Im leaning toward porting the stock intake...its free. I'll pry give SETX a call and see if he can hook me up, since hes a sponsor on this site. He might be able to help me out, especially if i buy the MM exhaust from him I'll throw up some pics and a long overdue review on my boat when i get it done. Ive done alot to the boat in the year ive had it, its time for a good review and some pics.

 Re: Whats next??
Just see if you can get a BPS adapter for the intake and port the stock intake yourself. I had to trim my cowling a little bit with the BPS single mikuni for my PD. Also if your looking for an exhaust, I have a BPS Crossover for a PD for sale for 350$ shipped to your door and it has less than 10 hours on it right now.
I have heads, carb, exhaust and ported stock intake done on my motor and was running 27.5 mph the other day with 4 guys, icechest full of beer and fishing junk the other day.

 Re: Whats next??
With those heads and that cam grind you will have plenty of bottom end with much more top end with the EVT intake. Have to match the heads and cam to a longer runner with larger diameter runner on the intake.

 Re: Whats next??
Got my Iron Mountain heads and Mikuni installed today, Thanks to Keith at SETX for hooking me up with the package deal. Everything went together fairly easy but I did take my time to ensure it was done right. The motor cranked right up and seemed to be running fine on the trailer but I didn't have time to get on the water today. Had to take my bride to visit the Duck Commander at the Sportsmans Expo today too. I also opened up my stock intake thanks to BD8 and his posts showing how its done. Took close to an hour I guess. You do have to make a little cut into the plastic cowling for the carb fit.

 Re: Whats next??
Looks good Poker. Thats what i will be doing in a few weeks. Gotta call up Kieth and get my exhaust and adapter here then find a free day.
Drake1, if i ever decide to do a cam swap i think you would be right with upgrading to the EVT intake. Im going to keep the internals stock for now and hope it lasts a couple hundred hours, and go from there, next step will probably be a prop to keep the RPMS down but i will probably just leave the prop stock for the season since my hunting load will keep them down anyway.... and then upgrade for bowfishing next spring. Wonder how far away stumpgrinders stage 1 prop is away?

I did the same as Poker. IM heads, BPS Mikuni and crossover exhaust. Did the cleanup/port work on the stock intake and I am very happy!

 Re: Whats next??
Got all the rest of the trinkets ordered up today. Had to call Micah to get the bps adapter and inake flange, i decided to switch over to the squeze throttle, ive always liked the idea instead of the twist so well see how that works out. Went with Marshmellow for my exhaust because i like that its not polished for my hunting needs, and I wanted something a little quieter. Decided to order the gasket set from jacks so i could order a manual for torque specs and what not. Three different calls but got it all knocked out. Now i just have to get to work on it. Thanks for all the help so far, i'll post up a review and pics in a few weeks when i get some time to get it all done.
