 Re: Buying a new pistol
It all depends on what you are looking for. I currently have 2 pistols that I carry. I started out with the Glock 23. .40 cal compact pistol. I love this gun, it shoots well, but it is somewhat hard to conceal. Mostly because of my size. I also have the Ruger LCP .380. It has become my everyday carry weapon. Small, lightweight, and extremely easy to conceal. It's not much larger than a pack of smokes. Love the way the gun shoots and I've forgotten that it was in my pocket a few times.

 Re: Buying a new pistol
Depends what you like. I have owned most of da popular manufactured sidearms and Sig Sauer wins hands down. If you are lookin for sumthin small and compact then Capt. Jon's recomendation is an excellent choice dat I too would recommend. If you prefer a more traditional sized frame then Check out da P226. It comes in 9mm .357 and .40 dependin on which configuration you choose. I personally carry a Sig Pro 2340 in .40 cal, but I will be upgradin soon to da P226 Elite in a .40 cal.

Had an LCP, got rid of it. 380 isnt much good for main protection source as far as Im concerned.

" i never said i didnt like you. your just a dumb tennesee hilljack who doesnt know any better u just got caught up in the act." Very good Justin. That was excellent use of the word Hilljack. I would've worked in "ridge-running pig forker" just for good measure. Nothing personal Earl, just critiquing.

 Re: Buying a new pistol
I like my Tarus Tracker 357 mag. with the ported barrel. Loud as heck but you can drive nails with it plus you will put anyone down for the count that you have to protect yourself from. The only con on my Tarus is you ain't gonna hide it on you with the 4" barrel. But I will be the the shopping mood for a compact gun to carry in the future. Just don't know about getting a smaller cal. than a 9mm. If I have to shoot I want dem dead. Only one story for the court room not 2.

 Re: Buying a new pistol
I was looking for a side arm in that price range. After shooting the Glock, Beretta and S&W I went with a .40 Smith and Wesson M&P compact. It fit me the best and the price was right. A lot of people swear by a Glock but I just never could get use to the way they felt. Just like a MM, go test a few out...

 Re: Buying a new pistol
When the right clothing allows it I will carry the Glock 23 other than that I carry the LCP with extended mag. and laser. Pushing hollows through it. Most gun fights take place within 7 feet and I can assure you with proper shot placement and 7 .380 hollow points hitting you, you are going down.
