If the boat is under 50hp you won't lose your drivers license though in TX. And its a different charge, wouldn't affect your car insurance.

 Re: Another problem on sandbar
Ok, I haven't been a LEO for nearly 10 yrs now, but back then a BWI carried the same as a DWI. If ya got 1 of each, it's just like havin 2 DWI, get 1 more of either & it's ya 3rd strike. What's ya hp got to do with it? That's like sayin it's ok to be drunk on a Honda Rebel, but not a Harley.

 Re: Another problem on sandbar
Well, the 50hp thing was just on the first website I was looking at the law on. So maybe that was false. Don't drink and drive in a boat or a car. We can all agree on that. I was more or less commenting on the "number of beer cans" law, than anything to do with the difference between a bwi and dwi. And I did not think that getting a bwi was the exact same thing as a dwi and you automatically lose your drivers license and your car insurance goes through the roof. But if it does than so be it, I don't plan on getting either. I also take my beer cans back to the ramp with me.

 Re: Another problem on sandbar
I hear ya. I think we all agree on drunk driving, & i agree with yall on takin the trash back in with ya. All my empties went into the trash at the Wally World gas stn in MC. Hell, I guess if there really is some law that says I can get falling down, snot slingin, stupid drunk and still run a boat with 50 or less, then we're all ok anyhow, right?
