On the way home there is a dog tied to a tree with no water and nobody is home, The dog was there last night when I passed by at about 9:00

I just passed again and it was still there with nobody home so I called animal control and told them where the dog was and what was going on,

Its a bunch of mexicans that live there and they have several dogs that just run around. Im not sure why this one is tied up. If I was home more I would just go get the dog and bring it home but being that Im not home alot and my wife isnt either I dont think I could be a good dog owner and spend the time with it the dog needs.

Don't know you well enough to tell. anyhow, It just so happens that I was on my way to the store to pick up some rib's. Put the dog in the kennel at the camp. Got a call, had to go back home, next thing one thing led to another, had to stop by the neighbors for a birthday party. been 6 hrs later got back to the dog, still in the kennel, no water or food. Let him out. He ran around, took a piss. never did get a drink for another hour. I kinda felt bad. BUT imho people need to mind there own fu$in business. Thats whats wrong with this country. After all its a dog, not a kid, not a person. a DOG. If it had been a little nig chained up there, you'd roll by, snap a pic and laugh, send it to your boys. I say mind your own!!! I'm not cruel to animals, but. It is that. An animal. Just like a cow or a horse in a field, no shade.A semi load going to market, no water or food. You know how many times I been out working in the sun, with no water? not just layin there. People need to take care of people. Nobody gives two shits about the homeless guy in -20 below sleepin under a bridge. But the dog or cat is gonna die. my .03

I just have a problem with everyone wantin to involve the police, dog pound or whatever. I guess if it was botherin you, you could have took it some water, or let it loose to fin 4 itself. They can do that. I think dogs shouldn't be pinned up. To me that is cruel. The only reason mine was pinned at the camp is cuz there are some pos bastards that don't like dogs on there property. otherwise mine all have there freedom 24/7 at home. Hell, my jack russell goes 4 miles to town and back, sometimes daily for a piece.And i'm sure some neighbors think I'm a bad owner. he's 8 now, and if he dies tomarrow, he had a better life than any dog i know. Goes where he wants, screws what he wants, Kills what he wants, and happy as hell, not a care in the world ( any guy would love to be that happy) jus sayin, i hate to get gov't involved, it's always a fuc*up waitin to happen. Just deal with it yourself. thats all I was tryin to say.

I tend to differentiate between companion animals and animals for food, as I think the majority of us do. I would have done the same thing, a dog outside with no water for a couple of days straight does look suspicious, it's worth somebody checking into. Biggest difference between humans and dogs is, we don't speak the same language. They still have nerve endings and emotions.

You did right Brad. I look at it like this. You can't make a dog drink. But its a different story if he has the option to drink if the bucket of water is there. Shit....its hot out there.

you need to realize that wetbacks think differantly den us.they prolly meant good.realizin how hot it is these days.they felt sorry for the tree,so they chained the dog to it so it could cool the tree off once in a while.with all this deep,treehuggin thought goin on they just forgot to give the dog water.

Was the homeless man chained to a tree? If so I would stop and help him cut the chain. Oh, I would do the same for the dog.

A few years ago ..... I would drive down the Hwy on mines way to work and down there was this curve and 'bout 14 dawgs was always laid out there in the shade ..... right by the Hwy and sometimes in the road. I pulled up in the drive and went up to the barn ..... thay was dawgs all over the place ..... some of 'em pinned-up .... some just runnin' 'round. Everyone of them dawgs was very mal-nutrion and in a bad way. I can almost still smell the smell. Nobody was 'round so I git on the celluar phone and called the society fo animals. Thay said ... thats awright .... that lady keeps 'em there and rehabilates 'em she takes in strays !!! I told them the conditions these animals were in and thay said thay would check in on it. 'Bout two weeks later ...... no mo dawgs !!!!! Didn't ever git the real story 'bout that place ...... just kind of hurt mines feelin's that it was goin' on. Anywho ~ It wasn't none mines business ...... I just kind of instinctly got pissed off and thot sumthin' should be done.

So BradS ~ I cain't type ifin' you was rite or wrong 'bout yore actions ...... but the good news is ...... Now that dawg you seen atleast has a bowl of water !!!!!

#1 Go get the dog some water, and food, as soon as you seen he didn't have any.

#2 Wait 2 days, then call and hope someone will make the owner do it.

Crews called his cousin and told them to put some water out...........
