I have a duck camp in the marsh that is for the majority of the time surrounded by water. It is sealed up tight and I'm having some trouble with mold due to the heat and humidity. It is generator run and trying to figure out how some of your camp boys ventilate it during the hotter months. I'm getting sick of stockin' up on tilex. I have no vents currently in the place. I was thinking a whirlybird but don't know if thats enough. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

go to the store and buy some of those things that absorb moisture and put a bunch of them in there, we did that at our trailer in college when we would go on summer break. a whirly bird will work too it will allow the heat to escape and vent better than it does.

Coupple trays of char coal laid out would help too. It draws moisture out of the air.

Sounds like you need a bag of charcoal... Moisture absorbing pads can be found at Home Depot.

Check with any of the travel trailer dealers but the moisture removing stuff is called dessicant. Its the same stuff in the little packs that say dont eat that come in a new pair of shoes. You can also install one or two of those little louvered vents or just crack a couple of windows.

I think it's called Damp-Rid or Damp-X, something like that. Just bought some this weekend. It is basically a small bucket that you pour crystals into.

We never had a mold problem at my camp in the marsh but it was probably used every three weeks. I would look into the wind driven attic fans or maybe a solar one? It might even help to crack a few windows if they have screens and security bars.

Find a way to draft some air through it and you wont have to put out pads.I leave a window on each side and a roof vent cracked on my cabover and never have to worry about it.

Exhaust fan with a screen that is hooked up to an inverter. Is on a 12 volt battery with a 400 watt inverter. 15 amp solar panel keeps the battery on charge. Our camp is on the Trinity River. We have no problems with the mold this time around. Also the beer stays cold too with the propane fridge.
