 Electronic Fuel Pump Question
The more i read on this forum the more i think i need to install a e fuel pump on my 25hp kohler gd longtail. So ive got some questions. Do i bypass the mechanical fuel pump? Do i take the primer bulb out? Do i just wire it to the ignition switch? Thanks for the help guys i need to get this sucker running ive got t minus 29 days and counting for the small duck season.

 Re: Electronic Fuel Pump Question
I installed one last year, and it made a big difference for me. The engine runs much better, and starts right up. I wired the Fuel Pump directly into my starter. Turn the key, let the Fuel Pump run for a couple of seconds and then start it up. You need to check to see if your fuel pump is a push or a pull pump. Mine is push which should be installed as close as possible to the fuel tank. I have the fuel pump installed on the bow, and then the line runs into a primer bulb, into a water seperater, into a quick connect, and into the engine. I originally took the bulb and quick connect off and ran the motor, and then put them back on, and ran the motor. There was no noticeable difference for me, so I put them both back on. The bulb is a back up in case the Fuel pump goes out, and I like having quick connect to burn the fuel out of the motor(much easier, and I do this about every time I run the engine). The only thing you could add is cut off switch to the fuel pump so you can turn it off. I hope this helps.

 Re: Electronic Fuel Pump Question
How did the install go and did it improve the way your motor runs?
