Post discovery channel
So I grew up watching animal shows on the Discovery Channel. Always loved it. As sportsmen we all have a certain respect for nature that you don't find in most people. Usually it runs much deeper than these kids that go to college and learn all the liberal propaganda and start huggin on trees. We grow up in the duck blind, the tree stand, the gulf, etc... From an early age our parents (usually dad) teach us to respect nature and how to live off the land to some extent.
Anyway, I kinda got off on a rant here. I've noticed lately that there has been some pretty extreme left wing "eco terrorists" getting some serious coverage. On Animal Planet there are shows like Whale Wars, The Cove and Blood Dolphins. These shows depict some pretty extreme activists doing some pretty extreme things in the name of animals. However, I find it humerous that you switch over to Discovery and you have shows like Deadliest Catch, Swamp Loggers, Swords, etc... Both stations are owned by Discovery and it seems like they are catering to both ends of the spectrum. Now I have watched all these shows, even the extreme ones like Whale Wars and The Cove. I like to see both sides of the case, I guess I try to be open minded to both parties. I believe in conservation 100% but at the same time some species need to be kept in "check". However, if we just go out and start whackin n stackin, you run into problems like we had with the American Alligator being hunted to the point that the population was almost history. We all have to be responsible sportsman, and for the most part 99% of us are. I'm just curious if any of you have seen these shows and what you think about them. I personally could never kill a whale or dolphin unless it was a life or death situation but in some cultures it is a way of life. Deer, ducks, hogs... no problem. What do yall think?

I think it's a boutique thing hitting the screen, just like all the sitcoms based on the lives of silly faggots. People will lose interest, whale wars is already old, and I refuse to watch it because I know it empowers them with ratings. I don't think any of those animal rights people on TV could ever share the same respect for wildlife as someone who grew up in our situations. They'll never understand, all they see is pretty Bambi, and are mortified at the thought of Bambi dying. It's a very shallow train of thought I think they all share.

But just a thought - The crews of animal rights activists on Whale Wars are heckling and disrupting the whalers. If they can do that, uninterrupted, how long before similar things are heppening in our waters, messing with fishing and hunting? It's the same thing they are doing now, just not to us.

Boy that whale wars gets on my nerves bad. I believe in conservation just as much as the next guy but these wackos are retarded.

The "capt" Paul Watson is the supreme retard leading a bunch more retards. It's funny watching them try to launch a boat from a moving ship when clearly none of them no what they're doing. One of them will get killed one day at the hands of these idiots. The blind leading the blind.

I don't even think the "capt" even has a real captain's license as their boats are registered as pleasure craft. How can anyone still have a license after repeatedly intentionally ramming other ships. One of these days those japs are gonna start shooting them bastards.

Just think, there's alot of folks in high places of our government that are just like those cats. Scary.

we ran in to this type of of crap a few years ago on a hunt with a client at a Texas ranch. They blocked the gate and would not let us in. Needless to say thay dont put up with this in Texas within 20 minutes they were all in the back of a cop car. It was funny to watch a bunch of tree huggers being slung across the gravel by the cops.

i think Disney is to blam for most of this. if you look at it all the disney movies that little kids watch nowadays have something to do with saving animals and how hunting is bad.

disney is responsible for brain washing many children. then when they grow up they become forked up retards.

Post Re: discovery channel
The Montgomery County Police have confirmed with EW that authorities have shot down the gunman who took three people hostage at Silver Spring, Md.’s Discovery Channel building today. At this time, the Montgomery County police do not know whether or not the gunman, who is believed to be James J. Lee, was killed. (According to Corporal Dan Friz, the suspect is “injured, but contained.”) All hostages escaped, and are now safe.
Friz says an explosive device might have detonated during the ordeal: “There was a minor detonation of it, but luckily no injuries to anybody,” he told EW. Lee was arrested in 2008 for disorderly conduct in front of the building, leading a protest against the network. His motives apparently stem from his efforts to save the planet. On a website registered to Lee, a statement criticizing the network was posted in January 2008: “These guys have been very sneaky and deceptive as to their contribution to the planetary problems. Just look at their ‘new’ show about saving the planet, Planet Green, to me, it’s just another show about more PRODUCTS to make MONEY, not about actual solutions. We can’t let them get away with doing it anymore.”
According to Friz, the building is still being cleared.
UPDATE: Police have told the Associated Press that the gunman has died after authorities shot him.
