Well for those who have ever read or cemmented on my posts know that I have had issues with my mud motor ever since I put the mods on. I always thought it was the carb I messed with that things on and off for the last 6 months, I finally got sick or it and last monday traded the mud motor for a 30hp four stroke at a local dealership. I took the motor out 3 times get home put the rig in my garage next morning motor oil all over the seal on the head went out I was pissed. Toook the motor down to the dealership yesterday and got my old mud motor back. I said enough is enough it obviously isnt the carb it has to be internal so we took the motor apart and the crankcase and sure enough the timimg was off by 4 tooth marks. this obviously happened when I put the mods on cause we opened the crankcase to take out the govenor. Well when all is said and done got the motor put back together and ran it last night. HOLY SHIT i ts like a brand new motor isnt doggy out of the hole no hesitation on the throttle what a beast. I hit 33mph last night with me and the wife. I love the motor and am glad the evinrude took a shit cause I got my mud motor back. Life is sure funny like that.

Yeah I know it had me stumped for a long time. Yesterday was the day I finally realized how much power that thing has in I had 3 guys a dog 7 dozen goose decoys, Battery, gas, mud buddy blind, cooler, small grill, all our extra clothes, caues we camped to get our spot for opening day. Close as we could figure 600lbs of just guys and dog weigh probally another 400 in gear and decoys. The boat jumped out of the hole got on plane and we were doing close to 23mph. My buddys about shit their pants couldnt believe it even got the boat out of the water. I know have the new Rev limiter which i average about 4470rpms witha average load. With just me and the wife I hit 33mph the other day in deep water fighing the current. Couldnt be happier thanks for everyone who helped out

You can't jump telephone poles with an outboard! Well not as easy. Glad to hear you got it figured out. Now you need to throw that motor on a longer flat bottom boat and see what it will do.
