I had a m2000. Its a very sweet shooting shotgun. I had a hard time cycling light loads with mine, but have read it may have been because I didn't properly break it in. Didn't have any issues with heavy loads long as it was clean.

i recently was in the market.....after talking to the salesman at buckfins n feathers he suggested not getting it due to a lot of people have trouble with the action cracking/splitting so i decided to go with the franchi which is also made by benelli but just a couple hundred more.....just my .02

Buddy of mine bought one a couple of seasons ago, action would not lock up on the second shot, sent it in, 6 weeks later he got his replacement...in pieces. Looks like th UPS truck ran over it. Sent it back, 6 weeks later got another one and so far no problems. Buy the M2 I saw where you can get one at Cabelas for $849. Probably cheaper if you look around or get on gunbroker. My 02

Willet.....Stoeger....Franchi...and Benelli all use the exact same action. The only difference is finish and price.

The O/U condors are great. The 2000 is crap.

I had the stoger m2000 it sucked wast of money. the first year the choke stuck the stock always came loose the spring for the firing pin wouldn't always hit hard enought to fire. save your money and get a browning silver way better gun IMO

My stoger really sucks, far inferior to a mossberg. On the other hand it's sister company, franchi, is a great gun.

Get you a Browning Gold. Only about a hundred bucks more I'm thinking. I used to work at Dick's Sporting Goods and we had folks bring them back in all the time.

If you dont need 3.5s I'd take a look at the Franchi i-12... some good guns

I have a Franchi 612 that I have put thousands of trouble free rounds though.

I have heard of problems with the Stoeger

The mossberg reserve is a little on the heavy side. Spend the extra money and get a nice gun that will last.

I have the Stoeger , Franchi I12 and the Benelli SBE......... I like all of them and have not had any trouble. With the inertia operated systems (12ga) they rec not to shoot anything lighter than 1 1/8 oz loads. All of mine have been used...abused.... and misused...they just keep working.

i bought the stoeger 2000 used last year and haven't had any problems, its a pretty sweet shooting shotgun and fairly light weight, you just gotta keep it clean, it doesnt really like the light loads at the range, it might not cycle 3 or 4 rounds out of 100, but with hunting load i have never had a jam, and as long as you take out and clean your choke tube you dont have to worry about it seizing up

I had a 2000 and it was junk. Would jam worse than anything else I have had. I sold it to a hunting partner so I can get in the extra shots

Post Re: Stoger shotguns
We sell about 25-35 stoeger 2000's a year. We get about 5% of them back due to actions not cycling 2nd and 3rd round out of gun. This is due to a little set screw on the side that holds the action slide in place, same set screw and location that is on a M2. If this happens to any of you, put some "Guntite" , a product form LOCTITE on it and should work fine. Stoeger Condors a nice gun. I have Moseberg and Condror O/U and both work well. Fit and finish is all you are paying for. Both shoot well and kill birds. My opionion (like assholes, we all have one) is to go with moseberg. Hope helps

I have the condor O/U and I LOVE that thing. i shoot better with it than any other shotgun I own. I dont have any experience with thier autos but if I were in the market for an auto I think I would look seriously at the M2000..

i HAD a stoeger semi auto, it kicked my cheek like a damn mule...sold it, bought a SBE2 and have put thousands of rounds throught it with zero problems. have had a stoeger o/u for a few years now and it shoots fine, although I don't shoot it much.

i got a stoeger turkey combo with the two stock's and two barrels. has worked good for me no problems as of yet but dont kidd yourselves its made in turkey and its not a franchi or a beneli i mean it has the same action but its fit and finish is not top self but for the money i bought it so i can have a throw around gun I can leave at duck camp in the trailer and not worry about
but idf you just want a good all round duck gun buy a mossberg 935 waterfowel 3.5 have a buddy who has one and hes put a couple thousand rounds thru it with no problems but if you want the best its a browning Maxus for sure
