 Carb Issue?????
I run a Mudbuddy HD5000. Just had the carb set to factory specs by my local MB dealer. Motor runs great for the most part. Carb is a 42mm Mikuni. At low speed, it seems the carb is loading up with fuel and sputters a bit when I hammer the throttle. I have a 160 main jet. Was wondering if I could go down one jet size to reduce total fuel and just run air/fuel mix a little richer. Anyone ever tried this?

 Re: Carb Issue?????
NO....leave the 160 jet alone!!! That jet is for high speed only. Adjust your idle air/fuel mixture screw. If that doesn't work....check your low speed jet. You may have a 25.....drop it down to 22.5 and it'll be fine.

Agree with all the advice above but if you still have a little stumble on transition- kick your accellerator pump in a little sooner (set the screw so you have a 2mm gap)- that will get you through the transition.

 Re: Carb Issue?????
I know the Mikuni is a great carb, and I am on the fence right now about adding one, but it just seems they require a constant tweaking. I am not sure it is worth the hassle over a modified stock.

 Re: Carb Issue?????
I didint know alot about the Mikuni or Mud Motors till I got on here. But Criag is right once their tuned you can just run em. Every Motor acts differently to the carb as does where you live. Ex. Elevation and such. You may have to swap out a jet or adjust your air fuel screw but they are simple to adjust and you wont be dissapointed. The great thing about this site is if you do need help to adjust it their are lots of people on here more than willing to help ya out.

I completely agree. They can be somewhat tempermental, but the power is unreal. I run a 2056 alweld with a mb hd5000. Loaded guys and gear(10 doz duck decoys and 60 goose floaters) still pushing high 20's!

 Re: Carb Issue?????
Sounds like an ignition problem. What exactly is happening when you lose 1 cylinder? No spark?
