16 hp B&S Vanguard on GO DEVIL
Could use some help. When idling or full speed the fuel filter empties and the engine sputters and then dies. Replaced priming bulb, fuel filter, 1/4 inch fuel line, fuel pump, and tank fittings. That didn't fix the problem. Took fitting off of hose and stuck hose in a gas can of fresh fuel to eliminate possible fitting or tank issue. Nothing seems to fix the problem. It doesn't seem to even be pumping fuel. HEEEELLLP!!!
Thanks in advance.

Re: 16 hp B&S Vanguard on GO DEVIL
might sound elementary, but it really sounds like air leaking in from a fiiting

Re: 16 hp B&S Vanguard on GO DEVIL
Checked and rechecked all clamps. Tried with a fuel filter and a piece of hose. Wondering if maybe an issue with carb. Added the priming bulb back and pumped it up. Can't find any possible air leaks. It won't pump any fuel at all. Could the port on the valve cover where the short hose to fuel pump connect be a possibility?

I only have 6 feet total fuel hose. I will try disconnecting line from carb tomorrow. Thanks I appreciate the help.

Re: 16 hp B&S Vanguard on GO DEVIL
New fuel line, new priming bulb, new fuel pump, new fuel tank, fresh fuel, new fitting where hose attaches to tank, and fitting on tank. Retightened hose clamps. Took hose loose from carb, pulled kill switch, turned key, and watched it pump fuel. Think maybe an issue with the carb. Fuel filter still loses prime. Can watch the fuel drain out.
