 Re: Gun Safes
I've been very pleased with my Liberty. I've had it 15years, so the particular model isn't made anymore. I went with a middle of the road model. I figured I did not need the fancy paint and trim, so long as it was still 1/4" thick with their better locking mechanism.
Things I learned during my purchase: You either need a large heavy safe, or you should purchase a kit to bolt it down, A good safe sales outfit will advise you on the weight. Be sure to purchase from a reputable retailer that does delivery. Many installations require a hydraulic dolly and steel plates need to go over thresholds because the larger safes will crush them if the load is not spread out. If you plan to store media, such as family videos or cd backups of your digital photos, you will need a gel cel (aka media cooler) to delay that stuff melting in a fire. Fire ratings are for combustion, not melting plastic/vinyl. Goldenrod dehumidifier or something comparable is a must. Gun safes are just like worksheds and garages. Figure out how much room you need, then double it!

 Re: Gun Safes
I prefer to keep my guns loaded and accessible so dat I can defend my family at an instants notice. I have insurance dat cover dem if I loose dem in a fire.

 Re: Gun Safes
I got the tall wide body Canon safe and I think I dropped a nut when we were moving that heavy bastage into the house. With all the stuff I put in it it work take a forklift or small crane to get it out again. It gives me peace of mind leaving home. I can get all the guns and other important chit into it easily. Everything else can be replaced. I was told to figure out the size you need and double that and you should be fine.
