 Help with Decision???
I am trying to decide between a BPS 5000 or an Black Death 4500. They appear to be comperable, but the BPS 5000 is about $2000 more.
I have an 1854 Sea Ark with a Shallow Water Marine hard blind, so my rig is fairly heavy. I have a hard time getting up on plane with 3 guys and load of duck hunting gear with my GTR 35, and was thinking that either of these motors would help me out significantly.
Thoughts??
Thanks!

 Re: Help with Decision???
Get with Hoyt at GatorTail and let him do some of his magic and it will out perform the ones that you have mention

 Re: Help with Decision???
You can add all of those internals to your Gatortail if you want- BPS sells the cam/pistons/rods etc...
Hoyt seems to have a recipe as well.
I have an equivalent BD 5000+ and I agree with F250 - CDI coils are nice but the rev limit is something you have to work around with other modifications

 Re: Help with Decision???
I think that I will just go with an HD 7000, and be done with it! Can't get any better than that.

 Re: Help with Decision???
How can I get better than a 7000? I know that Gator Tail does not sell anything that can match it.

 Re: Help with Decision???
gunner go do some more research and you will find out that the boys at Gatortail can build anything, you just have to ask and show them the money

 Re: Help with Decision???
You can get a 7000 on a gtr frame if you like. Holler at Keith at SETX and he can make that happen for you. Hoyt seems to have a pretty good recipe on his stage 1 though. Haven't seen anyone who seemed to feel they left anything on the table with that setup.
Not trying to tell you what to buy, but you can pretty much get whatever you want on whatever frame you choose... Just making sure you know you have other options.

 Re: Help with Decision???
Bring your rig to hoyt and have it convereted to duals, You will realy be able to to carry a load then. If not duals have him do the mod's he thinks you need . You will come out cheeper and most likey happy if you listen to hoyt.

 Re: Help with Decision???
I would love to bring it to Hoyt, but I live in Northwest Illinois and do not plan on driving down to Louisiana for this.
I need options that are available to people who do not live in the South. It seems to me that I can but the 7000, and be done with it. I would also have people in the area that can work on a Mud Buddy. Unfortunately there are no Gator Tail repair shops in the area around me.
