Post adding a fuel pump to a 35 vanguard???????
I've heard you can add a fuel pump to a 35 vanguard to give it a little more "help". Mine does great with 2 people and gear. However, when you add the 3rd person it labors (won't plane in deep water.) It will turn 34-3500 rpms loaded and 38-3900 out of the water. It has a 12.25 prop on it. Any suggestions?

what kinda motor lt or sd?

what kinda boat do you have? mainly whats the length and width?

you might need to check your weight distribution also.

It's a 2005 HD with the 48" shaft. I have distributed the weight as good as I can get it. I even though about trying a 11 inch prop on it. Even when it's jsut me, it still only turns around 3550 rpms. It is def laboring.

First thing- Turn your governor up to 4200 OOW if you are only turning 3800-3900 OOW now. Right now your governor is probably whats holding you at the 34-3500 RPM mark causing the 'laboring'.

Make sure throttle cable is giving full travel. Phillips screw driver, turn governor adjustment screw clockwise, gently raise the throttle up to see where the limit is and repeat until you are at 4200 OOW.

Thanks, I'll try that.
4200 won't hurt it in any way? I'm just making sure, I'm very particular with my stuff.

Did this work for you? I have the 35 vanguard and I was getting like 3200 OOW. I just tried this and I got it up to 4120 OOW. Thats screaming though and it back fires some when I let off the throttle, is that normal? I guess Im just not used to it running that high maybe. I got this boat from Gator Trax in 09 when I got home and Im just now trying to get more out of it. Thanks
