I'm gonna call setx first thing in the morning and see if i can get them to overnight me a cam.
Now as far as installation? how big of a pain in the ass is this gonna be? I'm not a complete idot when it comes to working on cars and trucks, but i'm not a genius either. anyone got some tips or hints for me?

You would get alot more product specific info on the MB forum, just sayin. I saw your post there and will point you to some threads with step by step.
Get a case cover gasket set and the two o-rings (call BoatDr he usually has them in stock). Also make sure you have a belt tension test gauge for when you reinstall the outdrive.

Post Re: Help! Cam!
hell no! ended up taking to the dealer, got it back last thurs and took it out to run sat. something still isn't right with it so it went back to him sunday. it's still blowing oil out of the carb and won't get over 4000 rpm in the water. i'm honestly thinking something else went bad when the lobe on the cam went out. dealer called me today and said it might be a head gasket, but i'm thinking more along the lines of a busted ring or piston. but we will see!

Could it be a stuck valve? Same thing happened to a friends of mines motor and a push rod had fell out which made his valve stick put it back under the rocker problem solved.
