Post Springfield XD40
Just bought one of the Springfield XD40 5" barrel Tactical pistols this weekend at the gun show in Lafayette. I am going to shoot it this afternoon. Ever since I shot my buddies gun, I was hooked. Just thought I'd share. Plus it was a decent price at $529 so I picked it up.
They also had the XD-M but I just disnt justify payin $100 extra. Other than that it is a comfortable pistol, and has the nromal recoil for any polymer framed gun in a larger caliber.

It was between the Springfield xd or the Glock 22. Both .40 cal, but the Glock is just not as comfortable to shoot compared to the XD-40.

The Glock has a different "feel"....
Some swear by them - but - I don't like them at all - personal preference

The XD has the same pointablity as the 1911 - or my favorite oldy the Browning HiPower Parabellum....

That lil 4 inch XD 40 is a sweet shooter - and has a tech rail too...

If you don't mind your pinky being under the gun the 3 inch is too...

Why not just get a compact if you're gonna put a magazine extension it it?

I made that mistake with my first Glock (27)...I bought a subcompact and put the mag extension on it....should have gone ahead and bought the compact (23) which I carry now. not enough difference to me to justify less capacity

I bought a XD-9 about 3mos ago and love it. I just picked up the XD-.45. I don't have any complaints about either.
