This is goin to come down to personal opinion, & you're gonna have to answer it yourself. All of these motors are good, some handle differently than others though. Personally, I prefer the MB over the other brands, but there are more ppl on here that dislike the MB brand than like it. Ignore the hype, take it for a spin & decide for yourself. ;)

My MB HD works well for me in the mud, veggies, and stumps. I am on my second (got a gift last Xmas or I would still be running the first- had 211hrs when I sold it).

I have driven both I like the GDSD because there not to many parts to break it's a work house and that's it but it cam work the crap out of u I just drove a MBHD this weekend and liked the way it's so easy to turn even if ur in mud and gotta like power tilt and trim too but it just seemed slower than the 27 GDSD I rode in. But iguess y'all are right just depends on whatever is comfortable to me

I only have 22 hours on mine but it's been great so far. See if you can get the Black Death 4500, it will save you some money on mods later on and still comes with a 1 year warranty.

I've got a mikuni & a crossover, so I'm a lil faster than a stock 35 will be. With a new prop, I got 33 solo (200), 30 with 2 ppl (200+250), & 27 with 3 ppl (approx 600). That's all in 3'-10' deep water. I'm actually surprised @ how well it carries a load for that small of a boat.

Yea the MB I drove this weekend man was on the same boat u got maybe a Lil wider and man top speed in deep water if I was lucky was about 15 that's with two guys and about 6 or 7 dozen weighed decoys does that sound right for a stock 35? Also I was wondering if its better to run the 11x10 or keep using the 12x10 that's on it?

Those speeds suck, something aint right on that rig. Definately go with the 12" prop.

thats what i thought man i figured i should be going faster than that with a stock 35 but i dont think its was running right cause when it idled it would pop like the other guys forms where you said itd the didioes or whatever they are called it sounds just like what is going on with it like it dont have the power its bogged down when it hits the water but when its in neutral it revs fine only ing the water it sounds all bogged down dont know whats up.

my buddies 1644 ran 26 with a stock 35 and he now runs 28-29 with a badly worn prop, should get a little better with a new prop
