Post another gtr trim problem
so i put my boat in the water and everything was fine until i went to trim my motor down you could hear the trim motor trying to work but it wouldnt move then it finally broke free after i pushed on the motor. so my big question is can the trim unit be rebuilt or do i have to replace the whole thing. i do see oil on the transom that is coming from the trim unit but cant tell exactly where any help is greatly appreciated thank you

Its more than likely coming out from the shaft. You may need to add fluid to it.

You can see a copy of da manual and even print it off da Gator-Tail website.

If you go to the gator tail website you can download a manual. The filler is just a hex screw on the side of the trim unit, pull it out and add some fluid. It should be in the download, its real easy.

I'll get with ya after season. I plan on getting a few folks together for a little ride

The trim unit can be rebuilt but you'll have to pull it off and send it in, mine did the same thing and it was the seal around the shaft so they replaced the sahft and the seal and had it back to me within a week. No big deal

If you have the parts i don't see why not but you do know that the trim is under warratny ifin you still have it and once you break into it yourself there is no way Kyle of Hoyt will cover it once you split it open, just a little thought!
