 35 Briggs (GTR) neutral RPMs
I have a 35GTR, the engine RPMs have been running up from 1900 to 2000 when the motor is in start/neutral. It will sometimes sit around 1500 then rev up to 2000 or so and and stay there. What should the RPMs be @ neutral? I'm afraid to damage the clutch, so I've been shutting the engine off and restarting it instead of engaging the clutch @ 2000 RPM. Anyone have this problem before?

Re: 35 Briggs (GTR) neutral RPMs
Your throttle linkage may sticking....neutral rpms should be set at about 1200.

Re: 35 Briggs (GTR) neutral RPMs
1100 -> 1200 at idle. Make sure you set it when the motor is warmed up.
