 Re: GTR35 CDI
I don't think they are any hotter but it is easier to modd the non CDI vs. the CDI.

 Re: GTR35 CDI
It's not noticeably hotter, just runs a little smoother when it's cold.

 Re: GTR35 CDI
My buddy just bought a gator-tail and I think he told me all they sell are CDI motors. As far as the warranty, it's the same.

 Re: GTR35 CDI
Its hotter with electronic timing advance but has a 4300 rev limit. So if you plan to mod and you have the option, get the regular 35.
ALso the CDI has a 50A charging system- a good thing if you run alot of power like bow fishing etc...

Add stock coils.

 Re: GTR35 CDI
$75 for the pair but you will need to get the old style wire harness and cut the diodes off it for the connection to the stock coils, the CDI doesn't have them (must be built in). Get the cowling off (10mm, 13mm, Torx T30) and then 7mm socket for coils. Best to use a brass feeler guage to set the clearance off the magnet on the flywheel.
Not sure if the flywheel off-set is really different from the one for the 50A charging system though.
