Post Wear your kill switch lanyard!!!
Mudd sent this link to me. Wear those kill switch lanyards- you want to be around for the next Holiday! This guy was REALLY lucky!

BOATING ACCIDENT ON AREA LAKE INJURES ONE - 12/21/10

Two brothers that went to Gillham Lake Saturday learned a lesson in low water safety when the boat they were riding in flipped over after hitting a submerged object in the water.

The accident occurred at approximately 1:15 Saturday afternoon according to Howard County Sheriff Butch Morris. The brothers were identified as 25-year-old Trevor Durham of Conway and 21-year-old Jakeb Durham of Rolland. After hitting the submerged item both men were thrown from the boat. The prop of the motor struck Jakeb and due to the injuries, he was air lifted by Air Evac to a Texarkana hospital. The injuries were listed as non-life threatening.

Arkansas Game and Fish Wildlife Officer John Partain and Deputy Joey Davis of the Howard County Sheriff’s office are investigating the accident.

That should make us all more interested in the safety of ourselves and others. I will admit that I have been careless a few
times. Not anymore. I also need to check to see if my kill switch works. Thanks Gary

That is horrible! Glad the guy is gonna be okay. Sure makes ya think twice about not hooking that red strap to yourself before you take off from the ramp.

I wear mine 99% of the time. The only time i am with out it is when I'm idling around picking up decoys. I just returned from a short ride with my daughter. :D I try to set an example for her by also wearing my life jacket. Things can happen too quickly to ignore these simple safety devices.

Holy cow, it looks like a shark got him. I wear mine every time I use it, but I have caught myself forgetting a couple of times in a short run. It scares me to think of how close to the prop I actually am when I'm driving, one little slip and you fall right by it.

We had a guy here on the island that fell out the back of one a few years ago, his arm looked just like this guy's back, he was standing in the back and his buddy was driving, cc carolina skiff type rig.

I haven't always used a PFD either but ever since the guy drowned here last year I have made it a point to wear mine every time I'm in the boat. Took about 4 months for the guy to float and while nothing is 100% at least your family will have a body to bury. It was hard to look at those folks all hanging at the launch for a few weeks waiting on word from WL&W everytime I put in there.
