Yeah you can spend $2,500 on heads, cam, exhaust, carb, intake, and prop for an increase in hp or you can just sell it and buy a big block surface drive.

I was just seeing if there were any modifications like cutting 2 1/2" holes in the stock exhaust and welding some pipe to each for a increase in exhaust flow

Just little things like that

check out some of the go cart sites, google "affordable golf karts parts" i think, and they give instructions on how to remove the governor, and then mod the air filter and exhaust.
be sure to install a tacometer if you remove the governor so you dont blow it up though

cut the shaft 32 inches, buy some timing gear pulleys, with 1.35:1 gear ratio. Have a housing built for gears, then bolt shaft to housing, Get a surface prop and VOILA!!! surface drive. Its all better then. If it was only that easy right.

your never gunna get it to run with the big motors, why spend money to gain a couple mph just to make it more unreliable?

a new prop and just keep up on the maintenance and you should be fine. dont worry about the speed with such a small hp motor..

I've got a real small 3 blade prop right Now that I'm not go thrilled with. Think it would be a litle faster and go through more with a little bigger 2 blade?

Lets u know if your motor is running in the right rpm range. Can give you hints that your compression may be low, or time for a new prop...

Also good for keeping track of your hours so you know when to do your scheduled maintenence.
