Re: Hot water hasn't been lasting long
Is it an electric water heater? If so...does it have a timer? May be a simple solution such as re-adjusting the timer and/or turning the thermostat up on the unit itself.....

Re: Hot water hasn't been lasting long
Heating element could be going out. The element is usually replaceable without having to chit can the whole thing, Around 20.00 or so. They just unscrew from the tank. They look like the elements in an electric oven except smaller. If you replace it be sure to not turn on the power till the tank has water in it. If the element heats up before the water is turned on, the sudden impact of cool / cold water can blow the new element.

Don't knows 'bout no timer on a water heater .... mabe ya'lls typin' 'bout the thermostat ??
I'm gonna say .... the top electrode is burned out .... thay gots two in 'em .... high ... and low. Replace the high one and see ifin' that don't put a fix on it.
