 Rolling Blackouts Suck!! I work in downtown Houston. Power has gone on and off six times since I got here.
Making work impossible, but I still have to sit at this damn desk!!
Anyone else in the state experiencing the same?

It is 28 here in South Texas.I woke up this AM with no electricity.I left the water dripping in several faucets last night.I also have my own water well....Went home at lunch and still no power!!! Now my water pipes are frozen.Should have power when i get home but the pipes will stay frozen for a few days.

Re: Rolling Blackouts Suck!! It was 76 here today, and raining on and off. Yesterday was in the upper 30's, and tomorrow will be back in the lower 40's.

Re: Rolling Blackouts Suck!! Sorry i keep turning all yalls power on and off but The reason its happening is everybodies fault, yalls using to much electric at once. Little cold weather hits and everybody turns on every thing that uses electric before the power goes out and overloads the system lmao!! They gotta balance the load, turn off all the darn lights and it wont happen lol

Re: Rolling Blackouts Suck!! Most power prices are set years in advance thru contracts with Co-Ops or big industry. To allow the rolling blackouts, certain coops and industries will sign a contract to have interruptable power. This means if the power producing utility cant supply enough power to meet demands and maintain a certain amount of reserves to meet unexpected losses in generation, the utility by contract can turn off their lights. It is a big deal if your reserves get low and you are hurting for generation. It is a huge fine from NERC if you lose generation and cant replace it with your reserves.
