Re: Pro Drive Vs. Go devil SD
Hahahaha that gave me a good life.. Im hating on neither, hell i own a go devil longtail now and love the thing, and leme tell you.. It's been through hell! But that's also a longtail, surface drives are a whole different ball game.
Now to help you.. I've hunted on both boats, and for what we were doing and in my own opinion, the pro drive was way more comfortable and just all around easier to use.. The neutral and trim are awsome. Really make you enjoy them, the reverse is a pretty good plus too especially when u get in a bind.
Both are good motors, the pro drive is just a little more luxerious

you dingleberries never fail to produce.
Visiting here is like walking into the special ed class to deliver a principal summons...smells of drool and a drowning sound of slurring fat tongued jibberish. Plenty of girl slapping and arm biting going on...w/ Giga standing in the front of the room eating paste.

Re: Pro Drive Vs. Go devil SD
I guess none of you have ever pulled up to a crowded ramp with the wind blowin from behind/beside you?
Havin that prop exposed is askin to chew a mark down the side of a fiberglass bass boat or wop the dock posts.
It can be done but you have to watch everything thats going on. Its way nicer to ease up there and tap it into neutral and forget about it.

Re: Pro Drive Vs. Go devil SD
The only time I ever had a problem with that "spinnin prop" was when a PD rig was hung on a log in front of me in a narrow bayou and I had my prop up in mid-air sittin on a log waitin for my chance to jump the next log and the PD rig behind me tail rammed my "spinnin prop" and did skuff his paint a bit till I killed the engine.... I only had about 5 hours of "stick time" with a GDSD back then and it was an old ancient WeldBilt 17x42 hull with more hooks than a trotline.... But that was another day where both the PDs were stuck and the GDSDs were makin laps around the almost dry lake bed..... Neither GDSD got stuck that day if I remember properly and the other GDSD was on a 16x60 GDSD hull.... DUCKSLAYER10 - shoot me a PM if you need any info or wanna ride in a 1660 - I know a fellow that has one over here or try startin another thread to get you a local test ride... I have a feeling this thread is bout to go into "left field" - so I am done postin on it !

Re: Pro Drive Vs. Go devil SD
T-Mac....So your saying that the boat way back next to the tree line is Giga in the deep water? I find that really hard to believe because we all know Giga has been known ( so he says) to put his motor thru the toughest of conditions...mud included. If what you say is true....why does Giga even have a mudmotor? Sounds like a 40 Yamaha would suit him better. Sorry Giga...but the picture of you sittin back in da peanut gallery is priceless!

Pd is hard to get started moving in the gumbo mud....but full power reverse is awesome especiallyif alone. If your not runnin mudflats id get the pd.

Re: Pro Drive Vs. Go devil SD
Where I hunt is shallow marsh mud bottoms with cane and switch grass decaying in layers over the mud. Gotta have a surface drive or a airboat to access....longtail is too much work and a regular outboard would burn up. If all I was doin was playing in the mud I would have gotten a mud buddy but for where I usually am running the boat the prodrive rules. Hey tank why did you get reverse if its only good for backin off the trailor
