I have other questions. By no means feel obligated to answer any of them. Just thinking out loud.
When I read about changing gear ratio on these motors I presume that has to do with the cog ratio between the crankshaft gear that turns the cam and the gear on the cam; or does it refer to the ratio or diameter of the crankshaft gear that turns the belt drive?
Currently wide open out the water I turn 4210 rpms and have timing advance key. I'll check again rpms cause it might be 4010, but I'm sure it's between those numbers. Wide open light load rpms ar between 3400 and 3500 on a good day. Heavy load I'm hivering at about 3200. If my objective is more load carrying ability and not more top end, would gear change help? And would rev limiter be recommended?
If all I do is change cam will my fuel mixture need to change and in what direction, leaner or richer, and can one do that with a stock carb?
Addendum: wide open out the water is 4010 rpms.
I'll have more later.
