D Guidry....he ain't lying. That's a fact!

I suspect one of the reasons you may have been so successful this year, too, is you can hunt the roost in the afternoon and on Indian Bayou one cannot. That right there might be the difference. I use to hunt all day long from sunrise to sunset...hard too, in a pirogue. It really was not fair to the ducks....lead shot, no pressure like now, honed skill set for duck hunting. Man, how I long for those days again, and my eyesight and reflexes like I had back then. I am now getting depressed so I'll stop. My personal goal became the trifecta of hunting the basin....deer, duck limit and squirrel limit in one hunt out of pirogue. Never got the squirell limit but came close a few times...deer and duck twice.

I didn't keep individual counts. Just totals for myself.
The first half of the season was awesome for me, but pretty terrible after the split.

5 ... only got to go one time this year, guiding deer got in the way real bad. Next year's gon-be good provided we get some fresh water on the island ... if not, I'm going 100% bootlip for 2011/12. I did shoot a nice buck though ... damn main beams were touching both sides of the wheel barrow when I laid the skull in the garage.

Yeah, sure ... why not ... just an 8 point though. For ref. I'm 6'3" and weigh 206 lbs. He'd of looked a lot better draped across the deck of the boat, but they don't have much water on the Concho River and the bottom is solid rock.

we finished out the last day in 5 min.....Gonna be a blue bird day so we decided to shoot everything that cam in. Bluewing teal 10 drakes and 2 hens......Had em in the boat decoys picked up and taken pictures as the sun was rising. Never made it to our blind. as we were throwing out dekes 10 min before shooting time birds were already piling in. Just stood still in the middle of the spread and blasted away. stopped shooting when we counted ten....had a few more than that.

did anybody else notice the ridiculous amout drake greenwinged teal down south this year. i shot only 1 hen

shot alot of blue wings the last couple years too. I like that though. Did anyone see or shot any canvas back

we killed 14 canvasback out of my boat this year. all late season though. and only 2 hens
