Post scary noises
i have a stage 1 with evt 493f cam and at 2000 rpm's my motor has a knocking noise. is it just something they do or what?

i dont think so it doesnt do it at idle or after 2400 rpm im not sure what it is. ive heard of something called a timing knock,any input on that.

didnt you say you had a timing key in it ? you might have to much or not enough. might be that rpm range on the cam?

if a mm cam is anything like a car cam its going to have an operating range where your going to get all your HP at certain rpm's. that might be the low end of the range

got cam from a friend and everything else bps, but will def call him. dont rememberit doing that with hoyt cam but also didnt have timing key.

Some engines do that....My engine has always done it. It doesn't do it near as bad if I run premium gasoline. It almost sounds like detonation....if your already running good gas don't worry about it.

What timing key did you put in it? At the most with that cam you would want a #5 with premo gas. we do not put nothing bigger than a #3 in the 35 and a #5 in the 31. It did not do with the bigger cam do to the compression was being bled off from the longer duration and is a top end cam.
