Re: Uncle J 1848 Limited Camo Edition
That's kinda where I'm at too, Owen. Seems like they'd need to be on the outer edges, but the only time I've ever messed with wedges was when I brought Scott a pair to the LA mud run last year. Don't think that qualifies me to know very much about em either.

Re: Uncle J 1848 Limited Camo Edition
i put mine flush with the edge on each side of the boat and flush at the very back(if that makes any sense to you)....i'll take some measurements to be exact but i think i started out with them like 3/4" thick and that made my boat drag in the front and i got em down to like 1/4" or there about like i said i had to play with em like 4 times before the boat ran top notch.....i'll get the measurements and pics this afternoon and report back with it.

Re: Uncle J 1848 Limited Camo Edition
I'd think I need to inset em a couple inches from the round and put em within 1-2" of the transom. Again, I'm flyin blind here.

Re: Uncle J 1848 Limited Camo Edition
If you go with wedges 3 inches wide 3/8 deep!! Only thing with wedges it puts the front end down to stop bouncing but in the mud it even puts the front end dowm more which causes more drag!! Kinda sucks in mud!!

Re: Uncle J 1848 Limited Camo Edition
Kinda what I was worried about. Thinkin I could get away with 1/4" thick if I move the battery up front too.

Lenco trim tabs; small ones. Or you can do what I did and go with stainless and turnbuckles. You have to reach around back to lift 'em to reverse if real stuck, though.

Re: Uncle J 1848 Limited Camo Edition
Boats that bounch suck no real way to fix them but take performance from other places.. pros and cons!! The 45 on the bottom of the boat has nothing to do with it!!!296 pounds with battery in back can put me on transom and other person on other side and will only run faster!!The way the boat was built the causes it!!

Re: Uncle J 1848 Limited Camo Edition
The boat was constructed just as that of the 30+ sq Chines that were built. Though, it is that of a round chine. The sides are bent in a way to create lift. The angled transom WILL cause porposing. About a month ago, I had to add the square back to a boat that was built in Pierre Part. We went run it, and NO MORE bouncing.

Re: Uncle J 1848 Limited Camo Edition
J, ya know I love my boat & that's what counts. Don't matter if they like it or not because they ain't runnin it. Hell, all they gonna be able to see is the transom & back of the motor anyhow. DGuidry get off my thread.

Re: Uncle J 1848 Limited Camo Edition
like i said i played with these wedges and my front end of my boat does not drag at all whether i am in the mud or deep water...no drag. as far as a round chine camo you will have to play with them also, get some two part epoxy and set them on there and go run, if it isnt quite rite rip them off and try another spot/size wedge....here is some pics of mine and size: mine is about 1/2" thick in the back of the wedges measuring about 4-1/2" in length fading to 1/4" thick in the front of the wedge and 4" wide. this works on my boat not sure if it will work on yours being a different size and round chine. its trial and error with these things.

Camo, I did the same thing as Jordy. I put mine as far to the sides of my hull as I could without them hitting the trailer bunks. I still have the ones you brought me, and I never used them. I can bring them back to you if you want them. See you on the 25th!

No, the damn colors looked nothing like they were supposed to & by the time I realized they were drying completely different colors, it was too late. Believe it or not, they went on as 2 different greens & a tan, but dried white, grey & green.

No, but that reminds me. A package showed up @ the shop today that had your name on it. We were curious, so we openned it. Gay pride stickers & anal ease? Seriously?

wow the lines on your boat look SEXY!!!!! I wanna centerfold to hang in my locker at work to remind me why i work so hard!!! I hope I get a chance to ride in that rig at the mud run. I am building a boat in my minds eye right now, hopefully the wife and kids take it easy on my pocket book so it can become a reality!!!!!

Re: Uncle J 1848 SETX Edition
Well, I finally got the chance to go run it for awhile today. With me & my wife, 3' water with slight chop, we held steady 33.4-33.5 mph @ about 4650 rpms. I can honestly say I'm happy with my rig. We might've took a whole month plus to get everything lined out the way I wanted it, but it was all worth the wait. Still haven't put in my neomats or finished the stencil work, but here's some more pics. Sorry for the pic quality, took em with our phones. IMG957974.jpg 100MEDIA_IMAG0555.jpg 100MEDIA_IMAG0556.jpg
