 10 month old lab
i jus got a ten month old lab is he to old to train?

i am not a pro but have two labs 1 11yrs and the other 5yrs and i can still teach them a few tricks my 5 yr has a has a hard thick skull but if ur patient you will be able to get him to work

i mean i played with him wen i got home from work and he seems energetic and if i throw a ball he goes get it is there any specific types of training items i should use?

wouldn't worry about that right now, but get him use to you for a month or so and spend time with him, then start your training with Dummies (bumpers) throwing them in the yard and work your way into slowly giving him commands, when you pick words such as fetch, back, here, or you can even use his/her name for fetching, what ever command you give stay with that command and work on it for a couple of weekd till she/he gets it down good and then move to the next one, stay with it till duck season and it'll be hunting this coming season, be be sure and have lots of patience, its not going to want to work all the time, put her/him up and come back and try again tomorrow.

thanks for the help im no kind of trainer but the guy did say he comes off a good blood line but ik that doesn' t always mean much
