Post Electric motor for the mud motor world?
Well I been thinking about this, and i know it would work! What if we would take a electric motor from 50 to 100 hp and use battery power. You would need a converter to a reduce the volts, but the good thing is hp and torque and there wouldnt be all the noise. You can have forward, neutral and reverse all in this one little motor! How nice this would be, you can run about 4 to 6 hours steady and when you get back home just put it charging. The only thing is you fuked if you run out of power. Theirs away to make this happen its just to figure out the volts and and the batteries. Im not worried about it, because you can run this motor horizontal and vertical and it corrosion free....

This would be good at night with a one eye dog :D

even better would be to have the engine run a hydraulic pump, then drive the shaft off of a hydraulic pto. then you could have froward neutral and reverse. hmmmmmmm

hydraulic = lots of heat and a large % of hp loss in the transfer. the byproduct of hp is heat. heat eats hp up. if the briggs you have was rated by hp to include all the power that is lost on heat a 35 would make like 100 hp. same with the transfer in hyd. if you have never worked on them the heat is tramendous. (spl?) that heat relates to alot of hp loss. it would work but it would take 35 hp to make like a 13 hp motor.
