Had mine on a 1548 G3 at first. Did ok with 2, but sux with 3. Did better on the 1644 GD hull, but still only a so-so set-up. The mini frame just doesn't allow you to trim down enough to really dig in deep, other than that, it was OK.

Ya we have lakes that you can't run out boards in so thats why I got a mudmotor because of the vegg , Dude I'm a Rookie when it comes to surface drives I had a longtail and It was slow as a mutther f..ker Drove me crazy. I just need to get this right I figured a brand new motor was better than a brand new boat . oh and we have rocks that would rip a lower unit off. Thanks for your replies.

If it's a mod-v that goes to a flat bottom it will be marginal, if its a mod-v all the way back it will suck. I tried a mini-27 on a 1546 alumacraft mod-v welded and it was ok with just me and the dog. One more guy and I'd be better off with a longtail.

$0.02, your mileage may vary

Well just wanted to say that I took the boat out for the first time and man I have to say I'm glad I did not listen to what other people where sayin about the boat plowin Thats B.S no offence to anyone , and it flat out halls ass , I sold my longtail to get a new rig , but I've all ways had boats as far back as I can remember , I greww up shrimpin and crabbin , when I say this boat hauls ass it does I would say It's in the upper 20's for sure with power to go , did'nt want to push it to hard the first time put major difference in speed from deep to shalow , going to GPS the speeds tomorrow, I got to know what it is.

Put a hunting load in it and see how it does. They all run pretty good empty, what did you have in it when you ran it?

12 gallons of gas two gel batterys one for the motor and one for the trolling motor tackel box , fishin poles two anchors and cooler with drinks. If I was huntin I would take out the extra battery and trolling motor , I know that it,s gonna slow down a little bit when I add a person but cannot see it slow down that much , It still feel like its got more to give , also need to trim it out a little better and that will help , but man I love it , My buddys got a 1648 with a 27 GDSD and it don't run like that , I've drove his , his runs good , mabey it's just a good combo , don't know but I also just come off of a 25 GDslowtail.LOL
