Started building my exhaust today. DONE (pics added)
So I been thinkin about what exhaust I wanted, and I came to the conclusionI wanted something different, so this is what i came up with. I got this polished stainless chink muffler off of ebay for $20, then used some stainless tube to make the head pipes. Im curious to see what it sounds like, it even came with a removable baffle.

Re: Started building my exhaust today
I dont care what exhaust you have.. Make sure you have a slip fit at the head. If not it WILL CRACK.

Re: Started building my exhaust today
Great looking muffler!!!
I'm going to be negative nanny for a second. Take it for what its worth...maybe nothing. From just looking at the join between the two exhaust tubes, that 45 degree angle might create some unwanted restriction. All the exhausts I've see, but granted I haven't seen that many, have smooth, nicely curved corners to help with the exhaust flow. Maybe something you want to experiment with further.

Re: Started building my exhaust today
where the two meet, they ARE welded at a 45, BUT, then they were cut after welding, to create an oval opening.

Re: Started building my exhaust today
the tip kinda looks like a gecker,i really liked my gecker duals but they didnt like the salt water,or maybe it was the fact that the tips would get wet when hot and get wet again that caused me to blow the whole end off where the adjustable baffle is? there will prolly be a blue flame coming out,may only notice at night, and the fwd pipes gonna glow orange, looks bad ass....brace it good. not tryin to knock your build in any way, with the price of aftermarket shit, diy is the way to go. i been thru a few diff muffs on a few diff motors and so far, marshmellow 2x is my fav.

Re: Started building my exhaust today
Looks good. Just a thought , but a cross pipe between the two outlets close to the heads will definitely take out alot of noise (i know from playing around) and will supposedly help with performance (was told but haven't tested). I can help you out with flanges if you haven't gotten that taken care of yet.

Re: Started building my exhaust today
You have to take your chances with flanges cracking. I know people with slip flanges and they have cracked aswell. Mine cracked with both. My next flanges are gonna be made of typ 316L stainless. See how that works out.

Re: Started building my exhaust today
That Chinese muffler you have with the adjustable baffles is definitely the ones Gecker uses. I have been running his original prototype muffler for the last three years. It finally gave out at the end of the season. He uses a muffler for each head, but they are actually pretty good mufflers. You may want to try a dual set up rather than the 45 deal- but it looks good. Good luck.
