 Sons Of Guns
Next Wednesday at 8:30pm central time I will be on the Discovery Channel show Sons Of Guns. They build me a firearm to use as a backup when I go alligator hunting. I'm warning everyone now that this is not the most accurate depiction of alligator hunting. There was not much reality involved but hey, I'm on Discovery and you're not. Tune in and enjoy the show for the entertainment purposes.

 Re: Sons Of Guns
Any gun show is a good show but this one is so far from a reality show that it's plain dumb. Barrel suckers will know what I'm talking about. The episode with the grenade launcher - 203 wanna be 37mm flare launcher was stupid. They blew it up like it was the real deal but it was nOthing but a flare launcher that anyone can own. They have the licensing to make a real 40mm launcher but blew up the 37mm like it was the best thing since a Pro-drive . The best thing about that launcher was that it was hanging off of an Colt SP-1.
I kinda dig the chick but you would be taking a big risk on a bj from her.

Watchin this now. You ain't never heard of a bangstick? Why would you make a bangstick that is so short? Why would you need a bangstick to kill a live gator? If I could get away with it I'd use my .22LR all day over bangstickem. You just tryin to get with the fugly chick?

 Re: Sons Of Guns
I watched it I would have liked to see a longer barrel & use a rifle round, does a rifle round pierce both sides of the skin? Seems to me that was the reason for getting one so that the round would not exit the body but remain in the gator not damaging any of the valuable hide?

 Re: Sons Of Guns
i knew this episode was going to get torn apart by yall, lol. the original idea for this weapon was from one of Tom Clancy's books where it was used as an assasination weapon. Discovery didn't want to use that premis because they were worried that someone would see the show, build the kill stick and try to shoot our great president. They didn't want that on their shoulders i guess. They saw how well Swamp People was doing and wanted to do something similar. Vince is one of my close friends and has been doing my gun work for quite a few years. He knew that I go gator hunting when I can get tags so he asked if I would be interested in doing the show. Obviously I don't gator hunt for a living. If anyone here says they would have turned down the opportunity to be on primetime Discovery show, you're a forkin liar! I didn't get paid squat except I've got a Katana AR in the works for a helluva price. Most of what I said was scripted and yeah, it might not be the most practical weapon to use but I have never seen another firearm get as quick and clean of a kill then that kill stick. Now I'm not going to say these things are going to fly off the shelf and be the next best thing. Enjoy it for it's entertainment purposes.

 Re: Sons Of Guns
I enjoyed the show as well. I wasn't really trying to tear the show apart either. Just saying a much safer version of what they built was already readily available. The fact that is was used in the show for something that it wasn't really intended for make's it all make sense.
It was a clean kill, no doubt. That's why I never understood why bangsticks weren't more popular in LA. They put down some big gators in FL with those things, and you can switch out the barrels pretty quick. Carry a barrel with a 22 mag or something for smaller gators, and a 44mag or 410, whatever you want, for the big boys. No aiming or trying to steady the gun while the gator flips around in the water. Pop the sumbitch in the back of the head with a big long stick and it's all over.

 Re: Sons Of Guns
You gunna shoot yourself with that thing or loose an arm. Make sure you keep it oiled up good. Far be it from me to say I told you so. Why yall wearing jackets for alligator season, aint it in Sept? Must have pissed that gator off when you woke him up from hybernation to choot him in your pond....... At least the MB didn't get stuck.
