 Re: gear ratios?
If you were to have a pull off the higher gear ratio will win. Torque multiplier.

 Re: gear ratios?
On the 35 Briggs
PD - 1.5 to 1 GDSD - 1.4 to 1 GTR - 1.2 to 1
MB - offers a variety of pulley ratios
ALSO --- remember prop pitch is slightly different too on the different MMs !

 Re: gear ratios?
any setup can have a gear change.... belts are the easiest as it is just a change in the top pulley.... but you have to make up for the change in belt length.
Best way to gear change is change top and bottom pulley to adjust for the same belt....
Easiest way is to change the pulley on the motor only but you are going to have to shim under the motor to make up the change in pulley size to keep the same belt.
as with an airboat..... slow down the prop and spin more pitch and you get the bottom end, but you will loose some top end speed....

 Re: gear ratios?
wow I never knew the gdsd had a reduction...but still don't know why the prodrive doesn't haul a better load over the other ones

 Re: gear ratios?
go-devil longtails dont.
go-devil surface drives do.
