For a while now i was looking into buying some pods to weld onto my recent project, "Swamp Donkey" because i felt like i didn't have enough flotation to hold up the weight of a lt or any large motor for that matter. i just recently came upon another post that showed that some older styles of foam and become warn and saturated with water over time. so putting all the clues together, pin holes, heavy stern, and residual water even after storage I tore into two sealed compartments behind my bench seat only to find about 70 pounds of soaked foam hiding under there. so after removing it all I have decided to go ahead and have a buddy of mine weld me some bracing to put back in place of the compartments in between the bench seat and transom. However I feel like I need to confront the corrosion left from the soaked nightmare.

-Is there something I can do to stop and help prevent anymore corrosion?
-What can I do to repair the holes short of welding them?

Make sure your electrical system is grounded back to the negative terminal of the battery and NOT to the hull of the boat. This could be causing the electrolysis or corrosion or whatever you are speaking of.
