Re: Boat builders and their boats
Damn, been a real productive day, huh? Lookin like some of you mofo's got too much spare time on your hands. Well, Terry, maybe my boat's got a presidential solution with the wedges, but I'd still rather have it than one of those flexi sided GT boats that crumple up in the rake when ya run over grass mounds. FTR, Jason didn't want to put the cut back on the transom and told me that it would probably porpoise before he ever did it. That was MY decision, which he very much disputed, but in the end it was my dollar. The way you said it before, GT will custom build the boat ANY way the customer wants, would they do so even if they know it will not perform up to their standards? That's what a CUSTOM builder will do, advise against it, argue their point & try to change the customer's mind, but in the end give the customer what HE wants. As far as the rest of my question, why is it that you had no response? Could it be more that you have a personal issue with Jason than an actual issue with these men who are building their own line of boats?

 Boat builders and their boats
Problem is; Some people think that everyone started big. Well, theres no computer animated system which shows the performance in the hull.
In fact, Pierce Alum was in my shop the other day telling me how they bringing ideas on new crimped boats to GT. Not nocking them, but all must realize. You have to start somewhere.
On subject of backyard builder: Does the fact of us soon moving UNCLE-j custom boats into a 10+ k sq foot building change our title? And the fact that I just bought out a local builder? What about me being contacted by a boat dealer inquiring on purchasing 3 boats a month? (not PD) What about me buying a big shear today???
Man.... The facts some people don't know.. When do we turn into a corporation? O damn... I forgot. We that ALSO..
Quick Note: I have a full time job. Well, I actually have three. International Sales for Rice Electronics. Coach @ Stephensville Elementary. And Owner/Sales for Uncle-J Custom boats. So, with the fact that I don't have to make a dime off of it, I can grow as big as I desire. We are just starting...
Garrett, I stand behind you 100%. And I hope at some point we can help each other.
With Love, Uncle J
