When I was in college I had a black liberal as my socialogy teacher. For my final exam I had to write a paper on the National Coalition for the Homeless.

Well I wrote that the coalition for homeless was complete bullsh!t and that people are homeless because they want to be. They can get a job but they are lazy. So why should I feel sorry for someone that doesnt want to help themself.

I am 24 and they dont have many people my age that have the insight on life and being all you can be. No abition for good jobs. They rather live off their parents and party hard and do drugs. Whites and blacks included.

What chaps my ass is when I see someone use food stamps to buy 200 bucks worth a food then walk out to a Cadillac in the parkin lot.

Also people dont know how to live within their means.

T-Bubba and TCHRedneck, glad to see there is still some younger dudes with some common sense and backbone. My father raised me alone, worked 2-3 jobs just to make ends meet. he had a stroke at 40, I was 13 and obviously couldn't drive or get a full time job yet. we had to go on public assistance for a few years until I was able to get a full time job while i went to night school to get my hs diploma. Not ashamed to say we were on it, but it was not a career and we were off of it as soon as we could be. I am doin fine now at this point in my life for havin just a hs education. so those folks that say the poor are doomed regardless of how hard you work can come spend a weekend at my paid off home, have some fresh fried catfish, sip some home made muskydine wine and tell me how the poor have no chance at happiness. I hope this post makes sense, got up early to go check the jug lines and still a little groggy, see ya'll later.

Oppression and poverty?? Like Craig said, and Hunter and others have demonstrated, life is what you make it. If you sit around and wait for someone or group to take care of you, then those 3 are prime examples of what our society creates and enables. I agree also that our world today and most of the people in it have no morals, courtesy, respect, integrity, self esteem, and so on. Everybody wants something for nothing, think they deserve it, and most of all demand it!! Sure, my kids have had opportunities that I did not have, but gave them because I wanted a better life for them. We sacrificed things during their youth to be able to provide them an education and to point them in the right direction. However, I will say for the record, they were taught family values, respect, courtesy, Christianity and today they are making their mark in this world as young adults. It all starts at Home. Parents of today are responsible for making their kids worth something.

It's amazing how people still ride that train. " It's someone elses fault that I am the way I am" Suck it up and grow a set. Life isn't fair. Never was and never gonna be. If your given a lemon you can either bitch about it or add it to your crown . Growin up we would split a sack of leg quarters with two of the neighbors households. We're all successful now. We took it apon ourselves to better ourselves.You can always look at things that others have and wish for it, but anyone can have what ever they want if they are willing to work for it. Bottom line it isn't where you come from it's where ya gonna go, and no one can stop you from getting where you want to be but yourself. Anyone can be successful if they are persistant. Not if you are a dumb ass lazy crackhead sob that sucks off the teat of the gov...

Some people you just can't help....especially those that won't even help themselves. The whole deal pisses me off. I work my ass off and pay the way for sorry bastards that dont want to work. One time when I was in college I took this guy home for lunch break and told him I'd be back in 45min (roofing). Went back to get him and he met me in the road and said his momma told him he couldnt go back to work with me. She was afraid someone would see him and they wouldnt be able to keep getting their check.

You should see the games they play in elementary schools. My wife is a teacher and has heard multiple times "my momma says I got to play dumb and not learn anything so she can still get her check".
Poor kids are labeled 504 or have some bogus disability and momma gets a check. All the while these kids can do good, but are taught at a very early age how to scam the system meant for people who truely need help.

Sick society that we live in today.
