Post Hydroturf hold up to a dirty cajun?
I am wondering how hyrdroturf would hold up in my boat. Bloody deer, nutrias and alligators go in it.

If any of yall hunt alligators yall know they can destroy anything nice.. Just wondering if any of yall have experienced how the hydroturf will hold up to alligators and blood.

debating wether or not to instal hydroturf or non skid

Do NOT Rhino line your boat on the inside

Adds weight and is BLACK -- IDK about you but I wouldnt ever want a black inside to my boat

So what if it gets a little stained -- I think I remember DDM talking about pressure washing his --- You just cant be a dumbass and get close to it

I use the wand at the carwash on mine and have had blood, gas, diesel, ect. all over it and no stains. It's a closed cell foam. However I don't expect it to last forever but I do expect to get between 5 and 10 years out of it.

All I know is I def would not listen to the guy who has hydroturf in his boat and hunts gators... I would listen to the guy who has a wareagle with a yamaha who's probably never had hydroturf or hunted gators. Oh yeah, and thought it was a good idea to rhino line his boat... :o

I havent had it but I have been around it and I like it. as soon as I get my boat painted I will be putting it in

Oh and get the one with straight lines -- everybody I have talked to about it tells me its easier to clean out than the diamond cut

The diamond cut is supposed to be their toughest stuff. I had it in the last boat and it wasn't that hard to keep clean. I like the way the cut groove looks though and will be installing that in my new boat. We shot a few gar and stuff over it and didn't have any problems getting the blood out or tearing it up, but I never had a gator in the boat.

I have hauled just about anything you can leagally kill or catch here in LA, including a few gators. That along with tons of blind building material with pointed limbs, lumber, cattle panels, rolls of wire and tin. I have a couple small gouges that you have to look hard to find. Blood and fish slime cleans right off no problems. But even if I only got a couple years per application I would not use anything else. If you install it keep all your scraps. If you fubar a spot somehow you could easliy cut it out and glue in a patch that would never be noticed by anyone but you. Its that easy. I just bought a couple pirogues that its going in also.

thanks guys... thats what i was looking for..

I know that beefmelt and gators stacked in the airboat can make it really nasty.

but with the price of fuel it will be a lot cheaper to go in my prodrive vs the lycoming

duck boat green and hydroturf will be installed soon.. hopefully before june cuz that black aluminum get HOT

But then again, mine had some wind flow over it. You were prob broke down and sitting in the same spot for hours  All BS aside, there were a couple of times that my boat sat in the driveway wall day in the sun, you couldn't even touch the grab handles but you could easily walk inside the boat bare foot.

I don't know what it was, but my chit was HOT!!! Maybe the straight grooved, lighter colored stuff like you had doesn't get hot like mine did. :? Wonder if that's why the diamond cut is a lil cheaper... :?

My price list shows it to be same price. I looked at a boat at GT with the same color you had. It was in the sun and didn't feel hot at all. IDK. We'll see because I'm getting the dark gray for my new boat.

I'd just turn the Tazmanian Devil loose on you and those soft feet............ I do keep a bucket handy in the boat just in case I need to wet things down. I have the seconds in mine. It has gotten warm on the worst days but still tolerable.

Well, to tell you the truth I was scared to go hunting with you because the skimpy camo skirt you were wearing when I seen you and take'em at the boat ramp. Take'em liked it but I thought you were queer.

Diamond cut or the molded diamond?

You'd think the molded would be the toughest.

The molded diamond is supposed to be the toughest. I'm putting the cut groove, it splices together a little cleaner. It held up great in my GDSD boat.

It is holding up good in my boat and is pressure washed every trip. The only problem I have had is that damn cats will use it as a scratching post and jack it up. They take little pieces out of it. I HATE DAMN CATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cats seem to like it. My friends got trashed by cats. Cats never got to mine because I, well let's just say cats never had a chance to get in my boat.
