Ok fellers how many amps will a 225 watt ge ultra halogen use!!

Assuming 110 volts it would be 2.05 amps.

Amps=watts/volts

225 watts 120 volts

You cannot convert watts to amps, watts are power and amps are coulombs per second.

Need the voltage.

Ok this is the thing i had 10 300 watt halogens 3000 watts of lights i replaced the 300 with 225 and added 3 lights so 2925 all of this is trough a 25 amp breaker!! Dumb azz me today turned my genny up to keep it at 60 hz and i blew the head gasket on my genny!! lol Any way i went buy me a new genny my old one was a 3500 watt peak and 3000 running my new one is a 4000 watt peak 3500 running!! My breaker is still 25 amp

i came up with 24.375 amps with 13 right!! before i was 25 even with the 10 300

Damn you blow a genny up and go out and buy a new one, what you do for a living? Hook me up lol That new Genny should do what you need now

If the new genny trips from too many amps.
Do you have 2 110 volt breakers on the gen? If so just run half the lights on each one.

You can hook a 220 plug up, does your Genny have a 220 outlet

The conversion of amps to watts is governed by the equation watts = amps x volts

For example 1 amp */x 110 volts = 110 watts


If your running 13/225 watt lights than your amps are going to be closer to 29.25.

Even if you use Kibb's conservative 2.05 amps per light you'll still be over the 25 amp breaker with 26.65 amps.

so 110/*2925 carry the 2..multiply by 3 wow i'm forking lost

bb the bulbs are 120 volt!! Not 110

The simplest way to convert is if your running 110 volts than 1 amp would = 110 watts. So 220 watts would = 2 amps and so on.



!@## 120 VOLTS!! WELL DAMN THAT THROWS A STICK IN THE SPOKES!

Tell you what get a volt meter and see what your actually getting out that genny. I can almost promise you its not goint to be exacly 120.

I had over 100 hrs on that genny with 10 300 watt bulbs!! It actually had all the lights going for a while till I got s bright idea to turn up the gov. Lol

Up some of that pocket change and throw a few LEDs in the mix!!!
