 Bowfishing bows, best for 2011?
I shoot a custom made Makasha flat bow right now but looking to increase my kill rate....I hitting about 50-60% with it but looking for increased killing!
I want a bowfishing bow, not just a regular bow. What's everybody shooting?
I want to also say, Twight Bowfishing is one heck of a place to order bowfishing supplies if anyone is looking. He is one heck of a guy and his prices are awesome. I just orderd some stuff and he beats the pants off other suppliers......

 Bowfishing bows, best for 2011?
You want the best Oneida osprey!! Their ain't a bow that will compare on the side of it!! O and a bow ain't gonna make you go from 50 to 90 percent!!

Re: Bowfishing bows, best for 2011?
delta, you shoot with r without sight pins?
I use no peep sight on my Mathews Switchback, only pins and can shoot very well out to 60 yrds. Shooting a flat bow, well, total different.
Another good point, who shoots with sight pins?

Re: Bowfishing bows, best for 2011?
Yeah you lucky fukk, you must have some pics with Kyle and a goat or something to get the hook up you got! I gotta roll old school with a light rail - no deck and no remote steering. Just a little jealous. ....
By the way Stihl Duck, we don't use PINS!!!!! Just in case you didn't see the first 2 replies answering your question.

Re: Bowfishing bows, best for 2011?
Just found out, here in Indiana we can't run a gas operated motor and shoot. It's had to be trolling motor only.
Does anybody run there on board charger to the generator to keep up the battery? My battery is only lasting me 3-4 hours and I need more shooting time than that

Stihl Duck I'm not sure what you mean?? Are you talking about running a small four stroke kicker to push your boat around while you bowfish? If so I'm not sure why you could not do that? What law are you refering to?

Re: Bowfishing bows, best for 2011?
Talked with CO from Indy, his words were that a gas powered motor may NOT be used while bowfishing. Im totally surprised and that sucks.......
Netman, correct me if I heard him wrong.
Thanks, CB. Planning on taking my 55 lb thrust to 70 r more.

Re: Bowfishing bows, best for 2011?
You could get a bigger power supply. Just have to do the math to figure out how much power you need. Also have to factor in the fact that your generator will have to be strong enough to run it.
I have also seen some alternator brackets designed for mounting on generators. Then you would have something to efficiently keep your batterie(s) charging whenever the genny is running... You would have to buy or fab a bracket and belt system and figure out how to get it on the crank, and also purchase a small alternator.

Damn, I wanted to bowfish Indy for carp. That sucks! Oh well, I'll just stick to shooting good eating fish.

Re: Bowfishing bows, best for 2011?
I think I'd ask him to state the law and search it yourself, I had a cop tell me one time open carry of a firearm in Indiana was illegal, and when I asked for a supervisor, the supervisor set the patrolman straight, I even got an apology.

Back to the first question get something you can shoot fast we got on some huge fish last nite but they only gave us a split second to shoot them. Didn't do real good only put one big one in the boat.
