 help with old 18hp briggs
I have an old 18hp gd that will not start. I have fire at both plugs and fuel to the carb. I gave it a shot of carb cleaner and it ran for a few seconds and then died. Now it will not even do that. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Re: help with old 18hp briggs
Sounds to me if you gave it a shot of carb cleaner through the air intake to make it run, your jets not delivering the gas. So clean the carb or rebuild it and that should work. Also make sure you got some good fresh gasoline.

Clean carb well, check flywheel/magneto gap, and check plug gap.

Re: help with old 18hp briggs
I greatly appreciate the help. It ran fine two days ago, so I guess I will pull the carb apart and see if cleaning resolves the problem.
