the m/h have a white light much like the halos your using now. for the stained waters of south la i would prefer hps over the m/h. the hps is a yellowish light that seems to be easier on the eyes.

After reviewing 100's of post on MH vs HPS, it's ur preference but HPS usually always wins!

Brad, the HPS light will output more lumens in a different spectrum more red. So using a HPS over MH will actually penetrate the water column further.

Guy told me that you could swap a wire around inside and they run on 110 or 220 -- He showed me one running on 220

Well they wernt all the same -- only 3 of the ones I bought were like that -- the others only run on 277

I called him in an attempt to get my money back being as they arent what he told me they were

He pretty much told me he wasent wal mart and no refunds would be given

Well I procede to tell him how much of a piece of sh1t he is and he tells me he called the cops on me for harrassment

Cops call me and I tell em the story -- they tell me civil matter and they cant do anything

Im not worried -- I know I can sell em for more than what I paid for em

BTW -- Anybody need any commercial 277 w metal halide lights? LOL

let this be a lesson to all when looking to buy any lights be sure to check the ballist to see if it is multi-tap or single phase 120v. I don't mind helping someone with any electrical questions. Brad just happened to ask after the purchase.

ANd if you run across some stoner with digital ballasts ,the ones with fans in them, buy them . They beat the sh$# out of magnetic ballasts
